Skull mount cracking

Hi,
I shot a stag less than a year ago and the skull mount has steadily been splitting from the bottom up! I think this is because the heat of the living room is causing it to dry and split...is there anything I can do or will it be ruined unless I relocate it?

I took a sheep down to my taxidermist and when I went to choose a pose for it (getting a shoulder mount) he had put bondo on the skull because sheep are supposedly prone to cracking their skull between their horns. I don't know if you could put some bondo on the underside of the crack. You could always cover the skull in bronze or cut down the skull and put leather around it. I'm no expert, so hopefully someone will have a better idea than me. Good luck to you.

Temperature and moisture extremes will effect all trophies poorly. Everyone likes to put a head on a wall overlooking the fireplace. Generally a bad idea. Your skull may have been overcooked in the beginning. Have to just glue it up now. I'm not so sure about the idea of sheep skulls cracking, as I have a couple of 'pick up' skulls w/ horns, who knows how old, that show no cracks.
