Ladies and Gentlemen,
If you could, if you have a few minutes, could you post a pic or two of your pronghorns.

I just got mine back from the taxidermist, and although I am pretty happy with it, I must admit i really can't judge them too well, as I am a lifelong whitetail hunter.

I'm not going to change the mount, and since i'm pretty happy with it, its almost a moot point, I would just like to know what to look for as a reference for the next one i put on the wall.

Thank you for your time
John

As a Wyoming taxidermist for a long time now I have mounted "a lot" of pronghorns. Here is an average horn size, typical representative mount I produce. This lifesize mount done in my studio as part of a joint project. It is on display as part of a family of pronghorns diorama in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington DC. I took this photo of mount just outside of my home town of Powell here in Wyoming. My wife and I gathered all the bushes and grasses, etc. from this area that are in the diorama. The diorama was sponsored by the Wyoming Pronghorn Society, the Wyoming Outfitters Assc. and the Wyoming Taxidermists Assco. as a gift to the country.

I went with a wall pedestal which gave the antelope a bigger look on the wal due to more shoulder being shown.

Hope this helps,

awesome, thank you both. i can see a couple places in mine that i would like improved, but overall, its done and looks plenty decent. once i take some good pics i may put them up here to get some opinions and things to look for in my future lope taxidermist, whenever that need may arise.

Thanks again.

Great looking heads and work.
Too bad so many of your pictures were not set up with a lighter background to show the horns off better like they should be. these are horns to be proud of.
