bwanamrmWell done Jerry! Awesome mount!
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

sevenmagltd. This is the mount I saw at the Texas show and thought it was one of the top 5 mounts I have ever seen! That mount just exudes West Texas, for those of you that have been there. the story on the sheep hunt/hunter is a good one as well.

Jerry HuffakerWOW Dennis, thank you very much for the post. The whole story behind this Texas bighorn is heart warming and I felt privileged to be able to do something special with the mount.

gsganzerCongrats Jerry!! That's one impressive mount. A good friend of mine won the TX grand slam lottery a few years ago and was lucky enough to shoot a great ram.

MJinesWay to go Jerry! When we chatted last week I enjoyed hearing the story behind the mount. I hope all these awards does not mean that your rates are going up.

Hahaha!! I'll second that!! He has a pile of animals from my RSA and New Zealand trip starting to hit his doorstep.
It's great to see the fruits of someone's passion. Jerry and many others on here have shown some incredible work and attention to detail. I love to see the creativeness and ingenuity. It's also nice to see the artists compliment each other when they do well or have something unique.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.
-Seth Peterson
Outstanding stuff Jerry! Congrats!
