As a doit yourself guy I want to mount set of horns I have. I know I need to boil and remove the shells/outer piece but don’t know why.can anyone give me a short story of why and any tips. Thanks and have fun Clint

There is a considerable amount of membrane between the horn and it's core. You need to slip the horns off their cores to clean it out.

Thanks that helps. Now to find something big enough to hold a set os 44” horns.
