I just got my mounts from last summer's trip to Namibia.

What's the best way to fix the horns to the skulls of the Euro mounts? Do I want to fix the horns to the skulls permanently?

Epoxy, polyurethane glue, etc.?

Fjold,

I would recommend a quality 2-part epoxy and be careful not to get it on the skull itself. It will likely discolor the skull. Many taxidermists use auto bondo but that is not an actual adhesive and will likely fail after time. Just my 2-cents... DAN

Thanks Dan.

Mix up some epoxy and apply it (sparingly) to the stub and put it upside down into the horns so it can't drip?

Unless your horns just don't want to stay on the trophies, let gravity do its work. I haven't glued the horns on any of my Euro mounted trophies and it hasn't ever presented a problem. In fact, when you want to dust them off it's quite simple to just pull a horn for dusting.

I prefer to stick them together. I would do as you suggested and take great care not to get the glue on the visible part of the skull... DAN
