Ok, I'm new to mulie hunting. Got my first one last yr in Colorado. Going again this year and to Wyoming. I have quite a few whitetails on the wall and I'm very picky on my taxidermy work. I haven't been all that excited with most of the choices in mule deer mannikins except McKenzie. I recieve most taxidermy catalogues in the mail even though I'm not a taxidermist. I do this for selection. So, can you mount a mulie on a whitetail mannikin but change out the head by using a McKenzie mulie head, build up the brisket and block it out? I think that the vast selection of whitetail mannikins are much better than mulie but I'm open to opinions and experiences.

Doc, I feal that the dest Mule Deer is the semi-sneak series 6md if you have a big cape this form is great . most deer people get mounted are early in the season and deer haven't started to rut. have your taxidermist cut in all the detail that the form has and pin in all the cuts.

DOC, I would not recommend using any part of a WT form for a mulie. They are two differnt animals. White tails from South Texas will not fit a form for a WT from the North East, and so on. What WT pose, and manufacturer, are you looking at that you would like to have a mulie on? I may beable to point you to a comparable mulie form.

Try Truefitt Mannikins, these are sculpted by Bill Lancaster and are the best mule deer form made.I have used them all & these have a good Muley look.and there are new ones that are not in the catelog yet. RS

To Bo-n-aro, There are a ton of whitetail mannikins I like. Mainly Joe Meder, Denny Behn's stuff from McKenzie, and some of Joe Coombs. I've talked with several professional taxidermists, including Joe Meder. They say there's little difference in the 2 species other than the head and brisket. In fact, Joe told me that he doesn't care for any of the mulie mannikins so he modifies his whitetails. As far as Truefitt Mannikins, do they have a website? Thanks guys.
