How do you mount your African sculls on European mount-style?
I`ve heard the sculls are a bit more porous than what we are used to.. I normally mount my sculls with a screw, but have heard stories of African trophies falling from the wall.. I`ve been adviced to actually glue a piece of plank inside the brain cavity. Is that really necessary?

And also to use an angle grinder to cut the scull? To get more speed than a regular saw, because of the fragility..
Other tips?

I have 20 plus skull/horns hanging in my home, all are there with a bracket screwed to the back. Drilled holes in the ball where the spine meets the skull. Works great for me, they have been hanging there for over two years....

Everything from Duikers, Klipspringers to Kudu and Eland

You can also make a mounting loop with wire twisted through the holes in the back of the skull, I have done that with buffalo skulls

You can also use autobody filler (bondo) to fill the head cavity. I've done that with a moose and a deer it seems to work well. II was worried about some kind of bleed through of the filler but after a couple years there's still none.

Thanks for your input!
The trophies are now mounted and on the wall. And I hope the intend to be there.. Smiler
I mounted it with two pretty big screws and some glue, and combined that with wire through the inner section of the nose cavity... Seems pretty good so far..
