GRRCost on a blesbok mount
I have a blesbok skull and horns that I got from a hunt a few years ago. I've always regretted not getting it mounted. I contacted a taxidermist who has mounted several animals for me and asked if he could get a cape and do a shoulder mount on the blesbok. He told me has two capes on hand and could do it for $775. That figure came from the basic price of $625 for the blesbok mount plus $150 for the cape. That seems a little high to me, but I'm far from an expert on it. I was hoping to get opinions from people who are more experienced than I. Thanks and happy hunting. Jerry

Jerry HuffakerIf he does high quality work, that is a good price.

David CulpepperActually that is a good price considering you have to pay for the cape which is pretty normal in this situation.

sculptorThat is a low price for experienced, quality work and he is actually giving you the cape.

GRRI appreciate the info guys. I guess I had a little sticker shock. The taxidermist does do good work so I think I'll go ahead and get it done. Thanks.

L. David KeithI agree with sculptor, your getting a good deal if he is experienced with African wildlife.
