Looks pretty cool. How are the two mounts connected? Did this leave your shop in one piece, or can it be taken apart for transport to its final location (client's house) and then reassembled?

I am going to do some sort of double waterbuck pedestal mount with my waterbucks from last years Namibia trip and alwasy keen on how others do any type of double mount to try and gain some insight/ideas on how to do mine for appearance sake at home, plus the logistics of the final assembly and moving them.

Thanks,

Willi

Willi, there are three sections that come apart easily for transport. The Gemsbok attached to the base slides onto a round pipe that is fitted to the base (this allows the mounts to be rotated easily).

There are lots of ways to attach the mounts to each other. You can use sections of square steel tubing that fit together (male & female sections are anchored into the forms). You can also use a bracket like the ones designed for wall pedestals and off balance mounts (one slides into another preventing any rotation)

You definitely want the larger mounts like your waterbuck to be detachable IMO. However it is done it needs to be done in a solid and secure way. (mounts can be stacked and made very stable but no pony rides for the kids Big Grin)

PM or call me if you need any more details. Thanks for the comments.
