For you Official Score Keepers. If a person shoots a top ten animal and the guide backs him up and puts another round into the animal is it still eligible for entry in B&C or SCI?

If it is eligible is there a point where a lightly wounded animal or a non wounded animal that is shot by a guide cannot be entered?

You an kill the animal with a train and B&C will register it as you being the owner, B&C does not make care how taken as long as it was taken legally and you are the current owner. Now P&Y only registers Bow Kills and the archer has to certify that he was the hunter and it was taken with arrow, makes it interesting on dangerous game with firearms backup, a question I don't know the answer but believe if a bullet strikes the animal it cannot be entered in P&Y

Unlike other record books, Pope & Young honors the hunter along with the trophy. To qaulify for the P&Y Record Book the archer must be the only one active in the kill and as important, the recovery. The hunter must not abandon the search and later have the animal recovered by someone else. Only archer equipment may be used, no back up rifle shots.
I have heard that Fred Bear shot three polar bears before he could enter the a bear into the book. It seemed his back ups just could not help themselves and on the first two and they would shoot the bear after the arrow struck weather it needed it or not!!!?????
