This Client from PA contacted me about 6 months ago, I met him at the Michigan Convention / Show at a Safari Outfitters booth this spring. He was telling me a story about his two kudu and two gemsbock he and his wife had harvested over 4 years ago in Africa. He had contracted with a local taxidermists to do the mounts, this guy kept them for two years still only salted and never did the job. He then transferred to another taxidermist and again they did nothing with them or for him. He knew he would never see them again , so at my request he pulled them after another taxidermists that had them for 2 years, for a total of 4 years now, and I told him "Send them to me." He didn't...... HE DROVE THEM HERE FROM PA. If I can do them, Consider them done but after 4 years of salted capes laying around in summer heat and humidity they could be bad. I got them in hand looked at them and told him , They will tan and mount. He didn't believe me but I received this today after he got his mounts..... Makes what I am doing worth all the hassle some clients give me. Thanks Doug, Dennis " DENNIS HARRIS, YOU ARE MY HERO!!! I am so pleased with the 2 kudu and 2 oryx that you guys mounted for me that words aren't sufficient. After four years of delays and foul-ups, I was afraid that those skins were beyond even your mystical powers of resurrection. I humbly apologize for having allowed myself to entertain any doubts, but I was afraid they would be beyond help, despite your assurances to the contrary. I cannot thank you and your crew enough for the fantastic job you did on my trophies. They look fantastic. The wall-pedestal of the Kudu is over my desk behind my left shoulder as I write, and he absolutely dominates the room. There's other stuff in here, but no-one can do anything but look at him. The two oryx are hanging together in my living room and they look as natural as can be, each with a slightly different turn. The broken-horn Kudu is hanging at my fishing camp in Baldwin, Michigan, where he makes the Cape Buffalo look small. My wife and I both thank you for your fine work. I look forward to seeing you this winter at one or another of the shows, so I can shake your hand and say thanks again. Dennis, as you know, Doug is a great friend and a client of mine. Hell, when i got called back to service he ran my business and wouldn't take a nickel for his time. When he received your work he immediately called and raved for over an hour describing every detail of the critters. And, since he's received them he e-mails incessantly bragging about them. You done well my friend, very well. dan Dan Donarski Hunter's Horn Adventures Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783 906-632-1947 www.huntershornadventures.com | |||
