Anyone have any photos of mounts for Ruddy duck drakes? I hsot a beautiful one this last weekend, but can't find any pics of mounted birds. Any help is appreciated. Trophies are not dead animals...they are living memories.

Nomrcy, your best bet is to get live reference pictures off the net. Classic ruddy is usually mounted like a puffer pigeon, but these birds only display like that during the nuptial plumage months of late winter/early spring. Likely your bird has more drab pellage. RETIRED Taxidermist

Thanks George-that is kind of what I thought. HIs back is not fully brown yet and his beak is only slightly blue. I still may have them do it in that puffed up position. It is too cool of a bird to not mount! Trophies are not dead animals...they are living memories.
