I bought a bison hide a few years back to use as a bed-cover but it's really thick and really stiff and just doesn't work - (and I don't know a lot about taxidermy anyway). Otherwise it's huge and beautiful. Ideally, it would be as soft and pliable as any bed-cover. Is that possible? What would it cost to have that done? Any referrals in New England? Thanks. <> <> <> | ||

The only thing I know of you could do is send it to Yost fur dressing in WI and have it re tanned. You could specifically tell them you need it soft and plyable. With that being said , bison have a very thick heavy hide and it's probably never going to be thin and soft like a thin buckskin type leather.
