What is expected as "normal" shrinkage on moose antlers - 2%, 5% 8% or greater? Thanks for sharing. Mostly interested in inside spread info. | ||

I assume you are referring to the 60 day drying period for measuring for B&C of P&Y??? No experience with moose, but white tails and mule deer, depending on how far out of velvet they are, loose 2 to 5% overall gross score. I would think that a average moose could loose a inch or so in the width???? I hope someone has some facts. | |||

I agree with Bo-n-aro. I've never lost over an inch on whitetails and as for moose, I've never noticed anymore than that. The only "shrinkage" is actually the skullplate drying and the joints contracting. The antlers themselves don't shrink at all. RETIRED Taxidermist | |||
