I had sent several things to Dennis to have mounted. Some were nicely done. My leopard came back to me with no claws. I asked about that and he claimed the skin arrived to him that way. I had sent the skin to him personally and have photos of it bearing all the claws. He or one of his staff stole them.

I had also paid for a euro mount of a kudu skull and it was supposed to be inside the crate with the leopard mount. It wasn't and I asked why it wasn't sent? I had paid him for it. I got cut off at that point. Skull was never sent. I assume he's sold it and the leopard claws for his own profit by now.

So, beware. He might do you right, he might not.

Bisonhunter,
I would never use Dennis again. Took him 2 years to complete things that were promised to be done in 1 year. Now the items he did were very well done, but I don't like business people who cannot keep their promises. I do know personally of one person who has been waiting 5 years for a bear mount and Dennis will not communicate with him. I also had to chase him down for over a year to get back a Zebra cape we decided not to have mounted. When we met to pick it up he was very cold and rude offering no explanation as to why he never sent it to me as he promised to do, he was the one who forgot to bring it when the other trophies were delivered. Only a 4 hour round trip to get it back.I'm leaving a lot of details out of this so as not to turn it into a novel, but what a mess out one experience with Dennis turned into.

Can't say I liked his work. Saw a bit of it on Taxidermy net and thought it was way over done (mainly his snarling wolf mounts).

He did a kangaroo once and it was so bad I told him that if I saw a roo in the bush that looked like his, I'd shoot it to put it out of its misery Roll Eyes Big Grin

He was the biggest blow hard I have ever seen. Talked all kinds of shit then ended up screwing so many. Worse is you dont hear nothing from all who supported him and his bs. The karma train hit the right spot running him over

Sorry to hear that and hope it works out for you over time.

I had my run in with him on the other africa hunting site. Was always told I would not be able to do anything if my african taxidermost screwed me. seems that bs talk can happen right here at home to.

The worse part is all those who were getting screwed covered it up fpr him for years. He was bsing people way before his problems started with getting sick.

He is one person I home the karma train back ups on and gives him all he earned.

Sad to hear this.

If someone gets a "dream animal", or finally take the safari they've been saving up for years to afford, then get taken (shitty mount, wrong mount, skins lost, etc.) by a taxidermist, that's just awful.

I suppose that even when working with someone "reputable" it's a good idea to get recent references. Even if it's a taxidermist, booking agent, outfitter, etc. you've used before.

Shitty deal for sure.

He did some work for me about 10 years ago.

Happy with the shoulder mounts except the zebra rug is a mess (not sure if that’s his fault or the tannery) and he kept a hartebeest cape that was to be returned unmounted.

Wouldn’t use him again.

YMMV

It is scary to me how many guys did not speak out on how he has been screwing people over way before he got sick. So many guys good screwed by the guy who love to talk shit on how good his word was and his over painted mounts.

No one EVER gains for long by screwing others
out of their things, or share.

Sooner or later the payback will begin and will cost them many times the gain in interest.
It may not be in the same form, it could be failed health.
