Another wonderful piece Jerry! I am enjoying your posts.
I do have a question on your great photos. Is that a back drop or are you using some photo editing program? If it is a back drop, what/how are you holding the mounts?

bo-n-aro,
It is a backdrop, they are on my mounting stand and I photoshop the stand out.

Thanks Jerry! I was wondering the same. Been using black felt for a backdrop, put felt over the stand then worked with the brightness/darkness to blend it. Just ordered a 15x20 backdrop with lights. Will have to get photoshop and try that.

Like bo-n-aro and many others, I enjoy seeing your mounts.

Kind regards,
Mary

Jerry, was this bull taken in the spring/summer? I asked because a friend of mine used to have some Nilgai. They were lighter in the winter, and darker in summer coat. They too had medium gray noses, eye lids and lips. But they were living in the lush Tennessee mountains. Could you imagine if they had Waterbuck or Kudu style horns? They are excellent eating. Good looking mount Jerry. One we don't see often.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

George, That is a great photo.

I mount Nilgai all the time, infact got one in today. The nose can be dark brown to gray but most of the time it is dark at the top and fades to gray as it gets close to the lip.

This one came in today.the flash has it a little washed out it looks darker in person.
