Here is a picture of the Baboon skull I had bronzed at skulltaxidermy.com I think it turned out pretty cool. They filled in a couple of missing teeth, and then bronzed the whole thing like baby shoes. Cost was $150 and it took about 2 months. Jeff

To be honest, I have no idea what the process is. It's definitely metal, and not paint. They do bear skulls all the time - look on their webpage - they have photos of bears. I think it looks so good, I'm going to send another baboon skull and a vervet monkey skull. I might try the copper or silver next time. Jeff

See this explanation. For shoes, basically you metalicize (is that even a word? ) them by spraying them with a two-component silvering solution. One part is a soluble silver salt, and the other part is a reducing agent; when they meet on the surface of the shoes, metallic silver is deposited. Then you carefully electroplate the silver. BTW, I think that is a great way to display a primate skull.

I went to their web site and saw the pics. All of them are awsome but they do not explain the process and I didn't want "painted" skulls. Glad to hear it is metal. Thanks
