Do you know how they stored the trophies stevie? (flint dried/salt dried, or tanned and dried)

Capes stored this way can last quite some time before mounting.

Let's face it: most african trophies end up with a lot of cosmetic work. My taxidermists tell me that is why the price of African stuff is higher than deer. I suspect it is only somewhat true.
