Big muley
I mounted this buck several years ago but I have never posted a photo of it on this site. It scores 218 6/8 net.
The unofficial #2 Typical Mule Deer in the World at the time. It has a 42" spread. The mount is a wall pedistal.

This rack was illegally brought into the U.S. from Mexico in 1997 by poacher Tom Baker. The rack sold for $50,000 and tenatively resold for $60,000 before being conviscated by Federal agents on the case. - See "Poaching Update", 'Eastman's Hunting Journal' February - March 2002

I mounted it for the U.S. Fish & Game and it is on display as part of the National Collection at the Boone and Crockett headquarters in Missoula Montana

That a buck and a half, seeing pictures like these cause me sleepless nights during the hunting season.

Thanks!

Beauty of a mount Jim, but I'm surprised the F&W didn't destroy the rack seeing how they love to seize and destroy. Glad it survived. Goes to show just how big those Sonoran Mulies can get.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
