Hi guys, I have a little query about the faces on Zebra skins . I got a nice Zebra with Jan at Sebra Hunting Safaris & want the skin flat tanned, may as well get it done in Namibia as we don't tan many big trophy skins in NZ (non) but the way they do the faces is terrible to me and looks false, but seems like most do it that way, to cut the nose off, trim the ears out & this company even looks like they cut the whole face off & stitch it back on. I never had time to look at they skins in person only asked for photo's, which took a while & only look to be phone photo's. What say the informed on here ? Thank you for any replies | ||

The nose of the Zebra is rounded. Cutting it off completely is a simpler method to achieving a truly 'flat' skin than notching and sewing the nose tip to make it lay flat. It is simply faster and more efficient. I dislike doing anything like this, and that is why I do not go for the fastest and most efficient method!
