We did a nice short scalloped leather border, carpet back and hangers so the rug would remain nice and flat on the wall.

I love rugs, and your backing makes wall hanging a cinch. Very nice Mary!

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Thanks Mary, you did a great job showing off my Leopard rug. A lot better than I could have done, since it is hanging on the wall in my trophy room. Will Parks/Safari Lawyer, hats off to Mary again and hope you enjoy??

Very nice. For myself I could never do that to a Leopard. I would need a life size mount but it definitely shows it off like that.

What if a person already has a Leopard lifesize mount/s, would it be OK then? Big Grin What if one does not have the room for a lifesize mount? What if one does not want to spend the extra dollars for a lifesize mount? What if one just likes wildlife rugs? Could go on and on, but to each his own I guess? Wink

Larry, I am just making a comment regarding myself. The rug is awesome. I would send my rug work that way in a second. I should have clarified that I don't have a leopard and don't know that I ever will and therfore I would not do a rug. Rugs don't get any better than that.

LJ - Thanks for the compliment. I thought the grin and wink would show that my comments were tongue in cheek. Sorry, really wasn't ragging on you.

Beautiful rug and, I think, a more historical way of showing off a leopard, since previous generations did this a lot more with their trophies than any full mounts. I'm going to consider this once my short (only 2 attempts) leopard curse is over.

I like rugs. If I get a leopard it's probably the way that I'll go.

I couldn't figure out how to do it with my buffalo though so I had a shoulder mount done.

Absolutely. There is definitely.some understated panache in a leopard rug not found in a full mount. That would be my choice as well!

That is beautiful.

In fact, that rug has a more natural, life-like look to it than a lot of the full-size mounts that I've seen!
