Our mounts from Namibia have arrived and...

I decided to create something a bit different from the sometimes mundane with a few 8"x10" and 11"x17" prints of our safari with SAFARI MOMENTS on CANVAS as in photo-painted art...to sparingly accentuate our walls, desktops, and shelves.

I was desiring something ARTISTIC and PERSONALIZED as an added dimension to all our other African trophy pics that already line a designated wall...

I've been looking for a medium to express my PASSION for African Safari Hunting, Photography, and Art!

These SNAP-SHOTS were taken using a small point&shoot Pentax camera. These are all really low-resolution images for posting to the web and may not show up so well. However, they look striking in high-resolution as the images retain their intense color and texture as in a painting. It takes me about 1-3hrs and sometimes a lot more to get it where I want it depending on the detail involved... hilbily

IMO the more detail the better...

And it's a great way to even turn a mediocre picture into one that becomes alive,...sparking that very special moment in time all over again!

We all have taken photos that just never came out right but we treasure those moments still...

And we all have photos that we treasure...

Please allow SAFARI MOMENTS on CANVAS the privilege to create a dramatic personalized custom digital image FILE specifically for you, friend, or loved one!!!

I've displayed some after's and before's as examples of my work...

For the DISCRIMINATING HUNTER... Enjoy the extreme pleasure of displaying these unique images with a TOUCH of CLASS....

Very nice and very interesting. I particularly like the center print - although all are nice prints. Can you give a little info on the process and what you do to produce the final product?

Oday450,

Thanks!

I use CS4 and PSE6 digital software to work on my images, using layer masks and blending modes.

I use a variety of techniques and tools within each program to control the direction of the piece.

I use a very small brush to paint with; adding color, tone, saturation, highlight/shadows, dodge and burn among a host of other things to get the final product!

Its a very tedious and time-consuming process in general because I'm using a brush tip like the size of a BB often times...LOL...wreaking havoc on my eyes! rotflmo

It let's one's imagination and creativity flow for sure and the skies the limit.

In these programs there's more than one way to skin a cat, but these are the techniques amongst several others that I use to get the final product!

Basically, friends have been sending me a selected full file out of camera snapshot and I send back a high-res file so they may have it printed and framed.

As I mentioned these images displayed here are very low-res because of posting to the web. However, the finished product is a full-file high-res image that retains intense detail, color, and texture.

If interested send me a PM with your email, and I'll send you a high-resoution image to see a better rendition of it...

I recently suffered an injury and lost my job and with a family of four to feed and shelter.

I will be using SAFARI MOMENTS on CANVAS as a means to generate a very nominal income to help support my family during these tough economic times we are all facing.

For those that may be interested in having a particular photo done, please PM me your email...

Thank you fellow hunters for your support!

God Bless us all!!!

Aloha!

Hi Mary,

I have been doing this personally distinct- style of photo art for the past 14 months, however I have not done a B&W yet...grins!

But I believe my techniques and style would lend quite well to a B&W image also...

I can study the image and let you know if you'd like?
