I hear that Miller TR Preservation Co has dried up, folded up, died, or is otherwise not in business. So, who is the go to firm for preventative treatments of taxidermy collections? Will J. Parks, III

Regular extermination just like would normally do with a lisenced exterminator. They chemcals they will spray with are carried with water and won't harm the mounts. Just call an exterminator and tell them you want to prevent moths and dermestid beetles from getting on your mounts and they can take care of it. Anything you buy in a can won't kill or prevent everything. Jerry Huffaker State, National and World Champion Taxidermist

Will, I was using Miller until their "problems" occurred. One of his guys that had actually been here to my office called me about this situation and told me that he was going into business himself. I disagree, that stuff will not kill the bugs in all phaises of their life. Some primithrins will kill dermisteds but only when the bugs are mature and not necessarily when they are in the Larvae stage. Call and exterminator. Jerry Huffaker State, National and World Champion Taxidermist

Fipronil. It's what the exterminators use for many things, and is also in some of the flea treatments. You can find it online.
