The forms are available in the US. Why not dip and pack and have the trophies shipped to your home? If you have the skill to tan the hides and mount the beasts why not?

I have mounted some of my own, and I am not a full time taxidermist. BUT, if I added up the money I have spent on taxidermy classes, attending conventions, purchase of tools and supplies, forms, tanning, and my time, you find that you are doing it more for the fun and satisfaction of doing it yourself, you probably don't save any money. Unless you want to take the time and effort to learn how to do the job right, the average hunter would be better off letting a professional do it. There are a lot of problems with African skins that the average part timer is just not prepared to tackle. Plus, your first few efforts are not going to look all that good.

I had my skins tanned in South Africa, by Kwiktan. They did a great job. I mounted my own half body bushbuck and my kudu. Both had extinsive form modifications, adding to, taking away, turning the heads/knecks and carving/sculpting/painting the back side into stone! Oh ya, I am a part time taxidermist, thats why I havent finished my blesbock, impala and wildebeest!!! You know, kinda like the auto mechanic whos car wont start! I do agree with RBHunt. I would not recommend anyone to try his African cridders, unless he has quite abit of experience. The selection of forms is not near what it is for say white tail deer, where you have hundreds to choose from. It takes a lot of reference material for the African guys also.
