If anyone out there knows of a sable cape that is available, I would be interested in one. Of course the most difficult to find is the only one I had any issues with.

Thanks,

Len Hawkins

Sable capes are very hard to find. There aren't that many on license and extra capes are snapped up quickly. I had a friend who shot a Sable badly in Zimbabwe (long story) and they didn't recover it for several days. When they did, the horns were fine, but the cape was ruined. He finally found a cape (female) at Jonas Bros. in Colorado, and they wouldn't sell it to him unless they did the mount.

I will let you know if I come across anything but as stated these are very hard to find. I have seen a few on ebay or taxidermy.net over the years but they have been very pricey. Good luck.

I have 2 at the taxidermist right now. I am running out of space and will only have one mounted. Let me check and see if he has disposed of either one. If he hasn't you can have it. Just pay the shipping.

FYI, one was from tanzania and one from the RSA.

Larry,
I must commend your willingness to help another hunter by giving him a $500 cape. That is something we just don't see anymore. Kudos to you.
