I was thinking about trying to mount a small bird like a English Sparrow using DP on the skin and just use clay for the body. I'd skin around the beak and then boil the skull and then put clay around that so the beak stuck out when when the skin was pasted back on. Then could you use the original legs and how to preserve them?

Ive had good luck with turkey legs(making foul fingers)by just soaking them 3 days in a mixture of 1 1/2 cups 20 Mule Team Borax to a gallon of water. Rinse well when you remove them and the borax keeps them from stinking.
