Well guys I got my Oryx wall-pedestal mount back from the taxidermist last week. I shot this bull with a handgun back in July. The hunt was a gift from my parents for my college graduation. I think the mount turned out great and goes well with my other mounts. These are all in the living room of my house. The taxidermy work was done by Rocky Cooper, owner of Brush Country Studios in Houston. Let me know what you guys think.....

Great looking mount! Smiler

A couple of questions. I'm making progress in my new trophy room, and I soon need to decide on colours and stuff.

Your room is very elegant. What kind of colour is that? The structure on the walls seems cool. Is that from the wallpaper or a paiting tecnique?

Thanks!

Thank you very much.

I can't remember what the color is called, but it is kind of a medium tan color with a little bit of gray in it. For some reason, the pictures show it as a slightly different color than it really is.

As far as the texture is concerned....it is actually a painting technique used over the sheetrock. I watched the painters do it and I still can't tell you how it was done. lol. It is unique. I do remember that it involved using a sponge to texture certain areas.

One of these days.....if/when I get around to building a trophy room. I would like to have 12' walls with the bottom 4' being cedar boards and the remaining 8' being sheetrock (backed with plywood of course) with this type of painted texture on it.....as well as cedar crown molding used for the trim.
