I was given a spray bottle of this stuff by my taxidermist when I picked up my last whitetail. Is this stuff really something valuable....does it do something that needs doing? Or is it something to make a guy feel good by giving his mount a shot once in a while.....I've never heard of such a thing! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." it will give a little shine to the hair and claims to help repel dust. It is just an aid to cleaning/dusting your mount every now and then. It has no bug proofing properties. Mounts should be cleaned at least a couple of times a year IMO. They will collect a lot of dust and start to look dirty if you do not clean them. Spay the taxidermy magic on a cloth and wipe in the direction of the hair. If you spay it on the mount you will end up getting it on the wall/floor etc.. If you like it you can but it from taxidermy suppliers. There is also a product available at feed/tack stores called Cowboy magic that I believe is the same product.

Grafton, You are correct about the Cowboy Magic (a product used for show horses hair coats for shine and dust repellant in the ring). I use it on all my bears rugs before they leave the shop. Puts a great non-residue sheen on the haircoat. Mary Taxidermist/Rugmaker
