Let's see some Cape Buffalo mounts
Recently, Grafton of Safari Arts Taxidermy posted a great looking Buff mount. I'd really like to see more: "dirty" or "clean" is fine. Many hunters think they want a clean looking mount but all they need to do is take a look at their trophy pictures. I've yet to ever see a wild Cape Buffalo that looked clean. If you scrubbed one down with soap, he still would look like hell Smiler I'd like to show some of my hunting clients some good Taxidermy as many new African hunters haven't got a clue where to take their trophies. Jerry, great looking Buffalo. That's a natural looking group that most guys could hang on the wall without the wife throwing a fit. On second thought, some of them will throw a fit over anything...Smiler Thanks for posting, LDK

I'd hang it on my wall. Matter of fact my wife would think it would be nice. We had a fire a few years back and had too take our critters off the wall to get cleaned and she thought the walls were empty looking without the mounts in the house.

Jerry,
I like all three however for some reason the first two look more like they have a bad attitude.

Is it the wrinkled skin around the eyes that give them the Clint Eastwood stare or what do you think it is?

Obviously the third one is the best trophy (older) but he looks calm and contented to me.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Hey guys, shootaway asked what it would cost for a quality Buff mount. Anyone want to post prices or send him a PM? I imagine his question was overlooked. Good hunting, LDK

I don't know Jerry, but I think that the second photo has been Photoshopped . . . It looks like you took a photo of a real buff and changed the background around it to make it look like one of your mounts. stir

diggin

I'm sorry, Buddy, but I just couldn't resist after the pronghorn thread. Those are outstanding mounts and I wish the ones I used to do looked that good! Great job!

And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. (author: David Petzer)

Tri-state Taxidermy mounts a good buff for 1850.
Good turnaround too.
