Looking for a Gobi Argali cape for a shoulder mount. Color, size of one of the other sub-species might work also. But I think most Marco Polo are too white.

Any leads would be appreciated.

That one would be very tough to find I would think. Too bad the original is no good.

If you do not manage to get a cape, there's quite a few options as to highlight the trophy as a cool scull mount.

I lost an Altay Ibex cape, I decided to let my taxidermist work out something new.

Here's the result (scroll down a bit): http://forums.accuratereloadin...3421043/m/2451058481

Anders, that is really nice! I think we in the 21st century completely undervalue the simple skull mount on big game and the rugging of cats. PURE class!

All we have is the horns and cap. No full skull. It is going to be a hard find. Keeping fingers crossed.

Nice skull presentation on the pedestal.

Could you post a picture of the animal ?

We have had some great success in recreating capes for sheep in these situations..

Here is a Marco Polo mount that we made the cape for..

That's pretty cool, how did you do that? Corsican sheep cape?

Interesting work on the recreation. Friend wants a real one though. Even knowing it will be a tough find.

Any leads would be appreciated!

Thanks

I really don't want to bumm you out but you legally CAN'T get get one without the hunter that took it and brought in with his Cites breaking the law. His signature is on his CITES and here is what he signed. Really need to read the CITES permits.

Thanks for posting that Dennis..

Really no way of coming up with a "real" cape for the Argali's..

But as you can see there are options..

Thanks for the responses and info. The ram was shot over 20 years ago, so we were unfamiliar with the current regs. Thanks for taking the time to educate me.
