I've got a pair of recovered Warthog tusks, but the cutting tusks have split and warped slightly. What is the best way to get them to line up again so I can epoxy them togeather? Soak them in water and then dry them with rubber bands around them?

If they aren't too far out, I've been able to just put scotch tape on the joint, wrap real tight with rubber band, and then fill with epoxy. The thin brown line is barely noticeable.

On the worst ones, I have soaked in hot water, then used a hose clamp in several places until dry. Then glue them up.

The gaps in the cutting tusks were quite wide. I ended up soaking them in water to give them some flex, applying Gorilla Glue and clamping them for 24 hours. The Gorilla Glue seems to have done a good job and has the added benefit of sealing most of the nerve cavity with expansion.

I'll just have to wait and see what the long term situation is.
