This past spring I took my first Rio Grande Turkey. I was impressed with the brilliant colors and when I took this bird with 1.25" spurs, I decided to have it mounted. It weighed under 18 pounds with a beard length of only 8.5 inches, but the spurs were longer than any other bird in camp. It is a hanging wall mount, but I wanted to capture some of its color so there were taken outside. Good hunting, David

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. Mike D.Great looking mount. I'm waiting on an eastern bird I bow shot last april. It weighed 23#, 10.75" beard, 1" spurs. I'm having it mounted 1/2 strut gobbling on roost.

The most beautiful turkey I had ever laid my eyes on was a Rio hen. In the sunlight where she stood in the break of the woodline, a few feet into the field, she glistened like golden wheat dipped in honey. (Up until that point I had only hunted Easterns, she was my first Rio in the field.)
It took me a few moments to soak in her beauty and I came back to reality, slowly grabbed my binos and strained my eyes for all it was worth to find any slight little sign of a beard...to no avail!
God...I love turkey hunting!

L. David KeithThanks Bob and Mary. I am happy with the mount but the base wasn't what I wanted. Oh well, I can always change it out myself later. While at the Dallas show, I found an Outfitter that specializes in Oceola Turkey and Gators in Florida. I'm looking forward to booking and hunting with him.
