Bear Throw/Blanket
Bear Throw/Blanket
Just got back from BC where I shot a couple of bears. Don't really need another rug much less two.
Thinking of getting at least one turned into a throw. Anyone ever done that? Any suggestions as to who could do it?

Mary Hilliard-KruegerHello Steve,
I have been making quilts, throws, pillows, etc. along with rugs for the past 20 years for the taxidermy industry and private clientele. Maybe you could do a throw with one and pillows with the other. PM me if you have any questions. Think I helped you with some lion claws a while back.
Elk bedspread (4 hides) done recently.
Kind regards,
Mary

Aspen Hill AdventuresMary, that looks beautiful. I have dreamed of having something done like that if I ever get to hunt musk ox.

L. David KeithAnytime I've pulled any animal skin or rug over me, I was too hot in quick order. Maybe if I lived in the Great White North in an igloo? Beautiful blanket Mary.

Mary,
Thanks! I was hoping that you'd have a suggestion. Those look pretty nice. I'll be e-mailing you soon.

P.S. Yes that was me with the Mt. Lion claw.

Aspen Hill AdventuresDavid! These fur throws are meant to be removed at sleep time. I know I would and I sleep with my windows open all winter too.

Mary Hilliard-KruegerAnn,
You beat me to that response! I also, always have my house much colder than most during the winter with windows open. (Ok , I know I live in Arizona, but it gets cold here too!)

David,
We had a full buffalo robe as a bed cover for years and always took it off before retiring as do all my clients I make bedspreads for. From time to time in the winter I would sleep under that buffalo robe and it was cozy warm!

Thanks all for your kind words.
Regards,
Mary

I know from experience, they are too hot to sleep under.
