Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

george roofJohn, not being a party pooper, but on your web site, this fox and the fox with the pheasant strike an alarmingly close resemblance of one another. Even the coloration and the eyes. Are they one in the same?
12 August 2007, 22:40
J P BakerAre they the same?
Yes,Both Red Fox,Both purchased from the same guy, both mounted on the same form(Jan Van Housen), both mounted by me.
Are they one in the same? NO!
I mount them in order to sell,I hang them in my showroom and I take them with me to places like SCI,DSC,gunshows and wherever I do a show.I buy ten or twenty pelts(ranch fox)at a time and they all resemble each other even the color.
I'm not some GARAGE Taxidermist that just started and has a hard time mounting or buys shit from other taxidermist to call his own,nor do I sub things out to others to call it mine. I have been mounting since the late 70's and yes, I can mount with consistency.
Hmmm
I think a few of these have alarmingly close resemblance of one another and yes this photo is from ebay because I buy hides from guys on ebay.

Aspen Hill AdventuresJP,
What does a mount like that sell for? It's got a better pelt than anything I've snared or trapped in the past.
13 August 2007, 08:23
J P BakerMy fee for mounting Red Fox is $650.00, plus cost of the pelt($75.00-135.00).

george roofJohn, I simply asked a question. I didn't imply you WERE a "garage taxidermist", whatever the hell that might be. Everyone started someplace and a garage beat out the shed I started in nearly 50 years ago. Having a big studio never insured a better product for anyone. Sorry you took it so personally.
