I was wondering in terms of shoulder mounts can one tell the difference between a Hartmans Zebra and a Burchells Zebra?

Thank you,

Jim

If the Hartman's is done correctly it will have a small dewlap while the Burchell's will not...

There are different facial color patterns and the Hartmann's ears are largeramongst other things.

Hartmanns have as Jerry stated larger ears, the face pattern is lighter sometimes even gold around the muzzle, Hartmanns have thinner white stripes , and those stripes are whiter with out any shadow in the white area and they have an adams apple.
The differences go on and on....

Bwanamrm, Jerry and Artistry of Wildlife, thank you for your replys. I heard they look the same in a shoulder mount but I guess it is in the details.

Thanks again,

Jim

I know what you mean with so often seeing no difference between the Hartmann's and the Burchell's on a shoulder / wall mount, that's why I always encourage hunters to take pictures of the head and neck showing the dewlap.

Get a Taxidermist that has experience with African animals such as the guys that posted here. tu2
