I'm going bear hunting with a bow, so I need to get a lesson in bear anatomy. Can anyone point me to a "Perfect Shot"-type picture with a cutaway showing the heart and lungs? I'm told the double-lung is the best shot with a bow. Any discusion/advice appreciated.

Hey Don! Where you going bear hunting? I'm going to Alberta in May with a bow. We never did get that beer. Doc (Right up the street from you in PISGAH-West Chester on Route 42). Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns

This bear went 50 feet on a double lung. You can easily see where my arrow entered and the relation to his shoulder. I was 16 yards away about 12 feet up a tree. He was completely broadside when I took my shot. ~Ann

If someone would be so kind as to offer to post them up for me, I can also add a personal picture or two of where to shoot a blackie. Kamo Gari ______________________ Hunting: I'd kill to participate.

Thanks for all the pointers. Ann, that looks like a perfect shot! I'm going to Northern Manitoba with JudgeG in June. Lots of time to practice.

Kamo, Great link, thank you... I just ordered that shot placement guide from them - $12.50 shipped. I've got a black bear hunt booked for May in NW Montana. .22 LR Ruger M77/22 30-06 Ruger M77/MkII .375 H&H Ruger RSM
