Gents:
I spent 10 days visiting friends in Florida. Nice time and I can see me spending lots of time there in the next year or two. While I'm not interested in black bear or whitetail hunting, I am interested in turkey and wild hog. What is the hunting like for those two in the states that border Florida?
Thanks for your time.
Cal

Plenty of both hog and turkey in Georgia, especially in the southwest area with Albany, GA as the center.

Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times.

Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.

Plenty of hogs and turkey in Florida.

Stay in south west Georgia for turkeys. Turkey population is way down in some areas of the state. Especially in the north east were I live.

There are hogs all over the state.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

Cal,

In Florida, there is a place called Fox Brown Outfitters that operates a 4,000 acre game ranch (formally J & R Outfitters). I believe they still have a very large self-sustaining population of Asiatic Water Buffalo on that property. Here is a link to their website:

I have never hunted there, but have heard good things about it when it was operated by J & R Outfitters (Joe O'Bannon...who I believe was also a PH in Tanzania). Might be a good opportunity to test out some of your doubles without lugging them to Africa.
