For those of us that have to use slugs: Just picked up a Savage 220, 20ga slug gun. Bolt action, has the accutrigger and drop box magazine. I mounted a Burris 2.5x scope and shot a 2.35" three round group off the bench at 100yd with no adjustments to the trigger, shooting Winchester supreme Partition Gold slugs. Has a very soft pad that mitigates recoil well. I have an older 12ga version of the same gun that shoots real well also, but i think it may be for sale after this season. As with all slug guns with rifled barrels, the biggest drawback is the price of ammo. If any of you reload these, I would love to talk with you. I think componets (slugs) will be the big drawback. There are foster slug molds available but I've never seen Partition Gold slugs available as a componet. I totally agree with you that the price is crazy on them. I try to buy them after season on closeout so I can get a good price.

375hnh, I have handloaded a couple diff slugs for 12ga, but none for 20. Do a search on the 24hr forum under deer hunting, there was a 20ga sabot handload recipe in there a while back. May have been by Doc Encore. Good Luck Reloader
