Cow tag for area 2 in the late season. I get that tag every year. I got blanked on sheep, goat, bear and moose. Still waiting the results for deer and antelope. I anticipate pulling the deer tag, but antelope is a long shot since I've pulled it the last 2 years in a row.

I drew a goat tag 5 years ago and don't expect to ever get another one. The first one took 22 years to get. I got a real nice billy in the Buena Vista area on that hunt.

Cheers

Well so far this year my son, my brother and I have all received preference points for Elk, Moose, and Bear and I got a "no" for Desert Sheep, my brother got points for Sheep and Goat . My other brother got a statewide Cow tag for Muzzleloader. We are now all waiting for Deer and Antelope results as well as getting applications in for Arizona.
Your buddies are in for a hard hunt in 76 if they are not familiar with the ground. Most guys I know who have drawn that tag settled for above average to average size bulls and packed in on horses quite a ways. No trouble getting into bulls just some trouble getting the big boys. Usually by the rifle hunt the archery and muzzleloader guys have chased and bugled the shit out of them and the big bulls have gotten quieter and not sounding off as much and the medium sized guys are still out in the open making all kinds of noise, be patient and try to get a big one but if you aren't seeing any "biggins" you may be forced to settle on a mid size. The area is known for big bull "sightings" but I don't see any proof of lots of big ones being taken.
Get way back in and don't be afraid to hunt further in than you want to pack one.
Tell them good luck and have fun........!

I have a pact with a buddy who has horses. If I draw, we both go. If he draws, we both go. If we both draw, then of course, we both go. I had 6 points and didn't draw for a bull. My bud put in for a cow in 76 and we are both going.

Now have 7 points, and it sounds like I have a couple of years to wait.

Three of us (one, a cousin in Michigan) drew cow elk permits in area 3 for the late season in December. Only cows in that season, but it sure fills the freezer!

Get the PointHunter app it will look up and tell you if you drew. It will remind you to apply in a text or in app message or via email. All your choice. Here is a link to get the app. https://www.gotmytag.com/download/TexasHuntingForum
It will do this for all your family and friends on your won app so you know if they drew as well.

Wow, dragging up 10 year old posts for advertising. I think you have one post that is not just an ad on posts from years ago. Just wow.

Just start a threat of your own.
