i heard about 1 week ago that remington was bringing out a .416 UM.....does anyone know if they are?

My biggest question since the first UltraMag was introduced has been, "Will Remington kill their amazingly popular .416 Rem Mag by bring out the most logical bore size on that big case - the .416 Ultra Mag??"

My guess has been that they will, but I'll bet there's been a big internal fight over it...the .416 Rem Mag really sold well for a larger bore, or so I've read.

That fat .404 Jeffery dimensioned case just begs for a .416 bullet. While I see little need for sending a 400 grain bullet faster than 2400 fps or so, a 416 Ultra would provide those ballistics at much less pressure than the traditional .375-cased Rem Mag.

haven't heard anything about it. but, just in case somebody from remington happens to read this board. If they made it I would buy one.
