Does anyone have experience importing trophies from France? I'll be heading over there this year to hunt roe deer with a friend from France. I want to bring the cape and horns home to be mounted. What permits will I need to get my trophy into the US? Thanks for the input.

You should check with the US Fish & Wildlife Service, US Customs and the Department of Agriculture people. They all have different rules and they're not always in sync. Each one of those agencies had something to say about the shipment of my kudu from Namibia. Talking to a taxidermist who deals with importing trophies would probably take care of it as well. He would know the requirements and could eliminate you having to navigate the separate government mazes. I would also ask your friend to check with the relevant French agencies as well or contact a shipper who handles such matters.
