Has anybody hunted elk in Colorado areas 48 or 49? I am thinking of applying there next year as my preference points should cover either of those hunts. Any information would be appreciated.

I haven't hunted elk in those areas, but I did hunt Mountain Goat successfully down that way last year during the blackpowder elk season. I saw a lot of elk and a couple of really big mulie bucks. It looked like a good area to try. Be advised though, it's steep and rough in that country.
