https://search.app/WUTb73jTDeRHFNTB6 President Trump has nominated Brian Nesvik to be the new Head of the US Fish & Wildlife Service. Nesvik retired as the Chief of the Wyoming Game & Fish Department last fall, after a long career that started as a game warden and culminated as the head of Wyoming Game & Fish. This should be great news for hunters. He presumably brings a completely new perspective to wolf and grizzly management than what has been in Washington for too long.

As long as he is pro wolf and grizzly delisting. He will be a fine choice.

Wyoming has been the main state pushing for delisting and management of wolves and grizzlies so far. He was chief of Fish & Game while that was going on. Animal rights groups are already lining up in opposition to him.

https://biologicaldiversity.or...NDgwNi4xNzM0MzU3OTY0 For Immediate Release, February 14, 2025 Contact: Taylor McKinnon, (801) 300-2414, tmckinnon@biologicaldiversity.org Trump Administration Fires Thousands at Department of Interior WASHINGTON— The Trump administration today fired at least 2,300 federal workers at the Department of the Interior, including 1,000 National Park Service employees, 800 Bureau of Land Management employees and 400 U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employees — or 4% of the agency’s entire workforce. Most of those fired were working through a probationary period and have limited rights to appeal the decision. “How horrifying that an unelected petulant billionaire is allowed to loot America’s beloved national parks and sacrifice our critical wildlife agency,” said Taylor McKinnon, Southwest director at the Center for Biological Diversity. “These cruel and clumsy firings will damage national parks from coast to coast and push our most imperiled animals and plants closer to extinction.” Thousands of federal workers across other agencies have already been affected by mass firings. Today’s actions come as the Interior Department is already understaffed and a day after 3,400 Forest Service employees were laid off. Employees at the Environmental Protection Agency are reportedly next. “Trump’s promise of bringing us ‘the cleanest air and water on the planet’ is just a sick joke,” said McKinnon. “The American people were swindled. This isn’t what they voted for.” Kathi kathi@wildtravel.net 708-425-3552 "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

Probationary employees are to easiest to fire. We most likely will see a revamping of all the federal government. With jobs being vetted as necessary or not.

Ya ok.....more federal employees would have gotten it done, right? The amount of waste in our federal govt is almost immeasurable. I hope they sack 80% of federal employees then re-hire based on need and merit alone. _________________________ Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Mark
Maybe he'll figure out why the Pinedale Anticline has so many fewer antelope.
they told us what was gonna happen over there 5+ years ago. on our side of the Mountain it was the deer population that crashed low enough that almost 80% of the locals here didn't even buy a tag. I've got some good deals on deer rifles the last couple of years. who sells a nice blue-wood Remington 0-6 for $200? I have 3, and I don't like Remington rifles.
