If it's like Montana, it is illegal to even possess without a proper tag. Keep it quiet. Fish and game no doubt would take it away from you, and you would be lucky to escape a fine.
Its worth at least $100.00 cause thats my 1st bid. how about a AR Auction??? It would be neet to have it my trophy room with a little brass plaque saying "pick up from lion kill Wyoming" or something to that effect. Seriously auction it off here bids can be increased by $50.00 per bid.But in all honesty ebay would probably bring you more $$$$
It has a value, some limp dick will buy it and have it mounted with a differant cape and claim they killed it. Try looking in a log home publication. There are businesses out there that buy and sell trophy and big game horns, antlers and mounts to people that want to decorate, but don't have the guts to kill the animals themselves. Try cabelas they buy horns and antlers, not to mention mounts. Big Horn sheep aren't that easy to come by,so the price should be good.

Well cas paintings aren't big game and trophy animals. That's where that falls into. A painting is also signed by the artist, so some ass wipe that couldn't keep crayons inside the lines of a coloring book can't claim he painted some masterpiece hanging on his wall without forging it.
There's a big market for antlers, horns and capes. Many of these items go to people who just want to decorate their homes and are honest about not having killed the animal. There's also an equal amount of losers that buy up horns, antlers and capes, have these mounted and lay claim to killing the animals themselves. I've seen guys pay up to $800 for decent 4x4 mule deer and 5x5 elk, that still had green capes.Because their outfitter fed them a line of bullshit about his hunting operation and they never even saw a deer or elk during their hunt. Rather then go home empty handed they buy someone elses deer or elk, take a few pictures and leave it with a taxidermist. They recieve the deer or elk mount a couple months later and tell all their frends about the Wyoming Mule deer or elk they killed.
The hardest part about a Big horn Sheep,is finding a cape,if thats what whoever buys it wants to do with it. Sheep are a premium and those who kill them usually have them mounted,so capes are harder to come by.

I spoke to a friend that was on the board of directors for the wild sheep foundation. A nice full curl, without a lot of brooming, can go over ten grand. I wouldn't make handles out of it, I don't believe.
