Any of you California boys know when Hog Season starts your way?

Would like to go down around Redding and try my luck this year with it.

Also if anyone knows any good outfitters or spots, sure would appreciate your input.

It's open year round. As for good spots, private lands are where the hogs are and access is impossible to get without some very good contacts or paid access via a guide. There is some public lands hog hunting that can produce sporadically but don't bet on taking one without a lot of effort and time in the field.

I had a spot in CenCal where there was a narrow finger of USFS land that went down between two big ranches and I'd take a hog about every third time or so. Problem was it was about 6 miles down a very steep trail starting at the top of a mountain to get there and if you shot a hog it was a long and grueling pack out.
