I took my girlfriend down to the ranch over the New Year's weekend to do some deer hunting. She hadn't been in about 30 years so it was pretty exciting. She shot two spikes and this eight pointer. All three were neck shots. She has the shooting part down pretty well. Now if I can just teach here how to gut and skin.

Excellent -- glad you got her out there and involved. Good luck on the skinning and field dressing though! Big Grin

Congratulations are certainly in order.

From this buck and the photos I've seen of the two you took earlier this season, it's quite obvious the management program you've implemented is working -- and working well. The body size of the those bucks has been exceptional.

Congrats on the deer, but I did notice that you said that she is your girlfriend. My girlfriend used to hunt with me, but that was 18 years ago. In the 17 years that she has been my wife, she has not been hunting with me one time.

M16,
Congrats to the lady on a fine buck and some fancy shooting! All neck shots... wow!
