I have a contract on a piece of land that I am totally unfamiliar with. The need for the GPS was to mark trails, stands , etc. Also to make sure that feeders were not too close together. It is swampy in areas with big trees . It would be easy to get stands too close together. In addition, I am going into ANWR in August. I am going to backpack over 50 miles through an area I have never been. It might be handy then as well. It just came today.

What sold you? The swipe here and there or easy to read with glasses?

Scott: The way I see it. you have far more use for one than I ever will. When you like it and say it is easy to use, that was good enough for me. Then they happened to be on sale at Cabela's.

Just a quick comment on the touch screen units from Garmin, use lithium batteries in them when you need the best life you can get. Alkalines die relatively fast, and are terrible in colder weather (<40F). I have a Montana 680 and an Oregon 450t. Both great units, but they are battery hogs. Jeremy
