Guys: Here's a picture of my 1st antelope, shot at Rawlins Wyoming, with custom gunsmith Larry Kmoch, as my guide. I used a custom built 1903 Remington in 6.5-06, cal. Sierra 120 grain Spitzer, at about 3175fps. The shot was 120 yds, broadside. Bullet hit behind the shoulder, and never made an exit, which is alright with me. The recovered bullet weighed 35 grains, of the original 120. Not much weight retention, but spectacular results. Jerry

Congrats Jerry on a nice buck. That retention isn't very much from the bullet. Did you find alot of petals or fragments at least since it didn't exit? Since you were around Rawlins, what unit was it? My brother lives out there and has hunted 61 (nw of town), 62(ne of town) and 108(south of town), taking his biggest goat in 61. My best goat from there came from 61 as well, but saw some good goats in 108 while hunting mulies last month, so will probably apply for that unit instead next year. Brad

Jerry, nice lope'. Boy that broad side shot shure sounded like it did a number on that bullet. I know its hard to get drawn in AZ for deer, do you ever go to New Mexico and get a over the counter tag?

Snakelover: I shot the antelope in unit 61, the next day we saw several bucks bigger than the 4 we shot the day before. It was a great hunt, including sage hens, and blue grouse. Smallfry: It is difficult to get a deer tag here in Arizona, but my buddies seem to get a tag in southeastern AZ every year.I have had 4 elk tags the last few years though. I have never put in for a New Mexico tag of any kind. Thanks for the replies. Jerry

Here is a picture of my best friend Jeff Orr, with his antelope shot on the same day as mine. His measured over 15" Jerry

Nice goats for the both of you. How did the 120 gr. bullet do on the grouse? Hopefully you got adequate penetration on them! Snake

Snake: The 120's were a bit rough on the grouse,LOL. Actually the recovered 120 Sierra base held together pretty well, its just that there wasn't anything left inside. By the way, those blue grouse were fabulous table fair. I hope I get a few more next year. Jerry
