Has any one used Wolf 7.62 X 39 Hollow Point ammo to hunt deer or hogs. How did it work? Tried Remington Winchester and wolf HP was the most accurate. ES If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

I've used Rm and handloads on deer and Mtn Lion, always satisfied, so go with what shoots for you. If possible chronograph the Wolf, and try some expansion media testing as time permits... especially in the pigs. Good round which IMHO is under rated, or stigmatized by it's origins. Thanks for the reply. I shot 3 hogs in Jan with win factory ammo and it worked very well. The point of impact changes a little between the win and Remington and the wolf. I'll give the wolf a try this season es If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

I have killed 2 deer with the Wolf ammo. First was a heart shot at 110 yards. Through and through shot with what looked like great expansion. Easy blood trail. The second was at about 75 yards. Again full penetration and good expansion. Fired a finisher into the neck that went all the way through also.

Thanks for the info. I'm pondering letting my 10 year old use the Ruger minithirty as a single shot to hunt his first deer/hog. Replacement stocks are cheap and I could cut it off short and put a pad on it. with the 7.62x39 auto action and recoil pad it should be very easy to shoot. E.S.
