This has been the standard government reference model.

Looks like it is projecting daily injection count declining till mid August and then increasing. It also has state by state projections.

Hunting starts August 15th. for me and looks like Covid starts ticking up same time. It’s already ticking up in the states I hunt in.

Traveling for my hunts will be via road. So the issue for this hunting season becomes

Staying in hotels
Eating on the road
I don’t have to deal with hunting camps as all the hunts the accommodations will be in motels.

Going to be a strange new world to even hunt within the us.



Side note - 2 sales staff at my local ffl tested positive last week. The place maintained no mask and no social distancing.

I was booked to hunt Texas and Colorado this year. And, later this year a hunt in BC, Canada.
Have managed to postpone all to 2021 at this stage. I was sure that by then CV-19 would be well contained and many air travel routes reopened, even if more expensive than previously.
As this situation continues I think even 2021 must become at least slightly doubtful. Here in NZ there is absolutely no indication of when the Govt. will allow overseas travel to resume. They are talking with Australia about a trans Tasman travel corridor but I think CV resurgence linked to recent demonstrations there has probably pushed this idea back somewhat. Travel ex NZ beyond Australia is simply out of the question for now.
A horrible situation for both governments and commerce currently. I see much more pain and misery all round before this thing bottoms out and we start the slow climb to recovery.

The projections have been so wrong that it is a bad joke. Much like the global warming projections were.
